For two years in a row Mudgee, NSW Ccentral Tablelands town has been awarded at the Australia’s Top Tourism Awards as top tourism town. Mudgee as amazing food and wine scene but what makes the town really standout is the passionate local operators and business owners.


Over 350 local family-owned businesses are part of a collaborative approach with the government to promote the town and make the experience really standout. Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC) chair, Evan Hall, said in an interview with Traveller.com that the awards aim to celebrate the diversity and outstanding regional destinations from all over the country.


“The awards form part of the new Quality Tourism Framework which combines multiple tourism accreditation, business development and awards programs into a single, user-friendly online tool to develop tourism businesses of all sizes all over Australia to grow their market,” said Hall.
